January 13, 2010 - Some resources re: Haiti earthquake
The magnitude 7.0 earthquake in Haiti has caused extensive damage since the infrastructure was so weak and/or non-existent. International relief organizations and governments are scrambling to get essential recovery and relief experts and supplies in.
A message from the U.S. State Department says … State, local, and tribal governments with goods and services to offer to the relief effort in Haiti should direct their offers to helphaiti@state.gov. Responders are reminded to please not attempt self-dispatch to Haiti; USAID and the State Department are coordinating the deployment of resources to Haiti and responders should deploy only if tasked to do so.
